Our Business
We are a small family owned dairy with aspirations of becoming a commercial dairy offering
uncompromising goat dairy products including milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and butter. Although
we are not currently certified as an organic dairy we strive to feed our goats an extremely
healthy diet and work constantly in the best interest of our herd to safeguard their health and
the quality of our dairy products.
Our current herd has been bred and raised from birth from our foundation does. We breed for strong
bodies, healthy udders and good production without the use of drugs. Our mature does on average
are milking 7.68 lbs per day which is almost one gallon a day. We do not use hormones to increase
production because our first concern is the health of our animals and our customers. Using hormones
harms the does long term health and puts hormones into the food supply.
We feed our goats high quality hay and grain, purchased locally, and seasonal browse (feeding on
green grasses). Locally sourced feed allows us to promote local businesses and the economy while
allowing us to monitor the feeds we purchase for quality.
Our kids are hand raised from birth and we work to attend every birth to safeguard the health of
the babies and their mothers. We have always maintained a healthy herd and vaccinate kids before
dis-budding (removing horns before they break through). We have had good results and haven't
had the need for annual vaccination of mature goats. We medicate only in case of injury or illness.
We do not save milk from any goat that has had to be on antibiotics.
We strive for happy healthy goats that can live a long life. We prefer to keep our goats from birth
through their retirement. We have been making cheese for 7 years and have had great results.
